We are a small, private residential care home in Sherborne Dorset. Located a stone’s throw away from Sherborne’s historic town centre. Since 1992, our family run care home has provided high quality elderly care within a comfortable, safe and homely environment.

With just fourteen beautifully appointed rooms, our qualified and experienced care home team is able to deliver 24-hour personalised elderly care and support in a reassuring family atmosphere. Our elderly care home welcomes both long term residents and those who need convalescent or respite care.

My mother has now been a resident for 18 months so it is timely to write a review. My mother is very happy with the quality of care she receives and my wife and I are happy to place on record that we have nothing but praise for the service provided. All staff are unfailingly friendly, helpful and professional in everything they do, and nothing is too much trouble.

The management and staff are very caring and understand my mother's 'sense of humour' very well. The moment any problems have arisen, they have been in direct contact with us and have helped to solve any outstanding issues. The home may be small, but that is its endearing advantage. Indeed, my mother is always saying how happy she is there.

My mum went to Garden House in July 2013 for a short stay and decided to go back after a few weeks back in her flat. She stayed at Garden House until 3rd March 2017 when she passed away aged 94. The staff are wonderful, very caring and kind, even though residents can be trying at times (Mum included). The food and activities are very good. When my mum passed, I was phoned and went to be with her to say goodbye. I can't say any more.

The care my father receives is above and beyond, and all the staff treat us as if we were family. The home is clean and bright with no smells which was important when I started looking into care for my Dad. I cannot praise Garden House enough. My father has been here for two years and is happy, well fed, clean and contented.

I visited my aunt on 18th December. My aunt is bed bound but her room has been tidied with Christmas cards displayed. Refreshments are offered frequently as is the offer of food. During the visit, my aunt required moving. The staff on duty were quick to help and make sure she was comfortable. All the staff are knowledgeable and my aunt's health and understand her as an individual and provide her with both dignity and kindness.

My elderly Aunt has been a resident of Garden House for the past nine months, in my opinion, it's the best thing we did. She is happy and healthy and loves it there. We know as a family that she is well looked after and safe, which means a lot as we don't live close by. I can't fault the care that she receives. Excellent!
