Nutrition for elderly wellbeing

Nutrition and hydration are essential to elderly wellbeing.

With this in mind, we prepare delicious home-cooked food daily, using only the freshest and, when possible, locally sourced produce. For instance, we have a longstanding relationship with Parsons, a traditional family butcher serving the area since 1840.

We know that mealtimes are often the highlight of the day so we work hard to ensure menu choices are not only nutritionally balanced for elderly wellbeing but also varied, tasty and satisfying. We cater for special diets and encourage residents to request popular dishes of their own choice.

Breakfast, lunch, supper, morning coffee and afternoon tea (including homemade cakes) are served in the dining room or, if you prefer, quietly in your own room. However, during the Summer months residents can enjoy the weather by taking lunch or afternoon tea in the attractive landscaped grounds or on the terrace. We also welcome residents’ friends and family to stay for lunch or tea too.

Garden House care home follows a traditional menu, complemented by a number of popular dishes from around the world. To enhance elderly wellbeing, we offer a variety of seasonal celebratory meals and residents’ birthdays are celebrated by afternoon tea parties, where friends and families can join us.

Lunch is our main meal of the day, with a number of nutritious options always available. There is a weekly menu so that residents can see what’s on offer and select their choices in advance. Our staff are always on hand to help read a menu or manage a meal.

We serve tea and coffee in the morning and afternoon, but also upon request at any time.
